Main Page of Northrend RPG: xgm.guru/p/northrend/eng

The Northrend RPG Hall of Fame continues to track the fastest completions of the map. Results can be submitted for any map version featuring a timer (starting from v1.18) and for any officially supported Warcraft version. The up-to-date record table is accessible through a Google spreadsheet.

Category details

Records are monitored in four categories: any%, Single, Director's Cut, and True Solo Hardcore.
  • The any% category allows playing at any difficulty level, with any group of players. Both online and single-player games controlling multiple heroes (using the -addhero command) are permitted. Games from other categories can be simultaneously submitted to this category, if desired.
  • Single category: strictly one player and one hero at any difficulty level.
  • Director's Cut category: one player with any number of heroes, and the difficulty set to Director's Cut.
  • True Solo Hardcore category: strictly single-player mode with only one hero, and the difficulty set to Hardcore.

Submission requirements and where to send them

To validate a completion, both a replay file and a video of the gameplay must be provided. If the video is recorded from a replay instead of a live game, it can still be accepted for the contest on an individual basis. Additionally, include the author's nickname, Warcraft version (e.g., 1.26), map version (e.g., 1.23 Lite), time spent (with seconds precision, e.g., 03:30:02), and category (e.g., Director's Cut and any%).
Note: Warcraft III does not automatically save game replays. To save replays automatically after completing a game, enable the corresponding option in the Settings menu.
Another note: In Northrend RPG, replay recording is automatically disabled when playing in team mode (2 or 3 players). To enable replay recording in this case, enter the command -replay on before selecting characters.
Submit replay files and video links (uploaded to YouTube) in the comments section of this topic or through our Discord Server.

Game completion criteria

The in-game timer starts counting when the heroes are controlled by the players (landing in Dun-Nor) and stops when the main game objective is completed - "War with the Scourge" (destruction of the Black Citadel of Akhnarak).
To monitor the current time spent, enable the in-game timer window. Select one of your heroes, go to "Hero Menu" - "Camera and Interface" - "Time Spent", and the timer window will appear in the upper right corner. It can be hidden in the same manner.
Upon completion and the start of the credits, the time spent will be displayed on the screen. This displayed time will be considered the completion time for the contest. However, players are kindly requested not to delay the moment from the start of the game to the start of the timer countdown by more than 3 minutes for the intro and hero selection.

General Rules

Individual playthroughs and participants may be disqualified for the following reasons:
  • 1.1. Editing replay files.
  • 1.2. Manipulating video footage to mislead about completion time and method (but editing for presentation purposes is allowed, without cutting the control time).
  • 1.3. Manipulating in-game memory.
  • 1.4. Using cheats.
  • 1.5. Utilizing debug mode.
  • 1.6. Exploiting the game's save and load system.
  • 1.7. Intentionally breaking the in-game timer (if unintentional, the replay may be accepted on an individual basis).
  • 1.8. Employing third-party programs and modifications that control the game.
  • 1.9. Using third-party programs and modifications that provide unfair advantages, such as map scouting or tracking enemy positions (but modifications affecting only the user interface, e.g., displaying HP regeneration speed, are allowed).
Additionally, individual players may be excluded from the contest in the following cases:
  • 2.1. Claiming others' completions as their own (plagiarism of completion methods is allowed).
  • 2.2. A single player using multiple identities with different nicknames (however, multiple players may use a common group nickname during network play).
  • 2.3. Hindering other players from participating in the contest (through threats or deception).
With the consent of the community and active players, and after relevant discussions, these rules may be changed, supplemented, and applied retrospectively.
